We had a wonderful start to 2026 with Viviane Ephraimson-Abt sharing with us the history and methods for Kindness Cards and Coins– and to begin the new year in community with the intention to bring greater kindness into the world! After a clear overview about the connection between creativity and mindfulness, as well as the health benefits, Viviane led us through instructions for creating small collage pieces, including inspirational words and phrases from the Wise Words handouts she provided (amazing resources!). We shared in breakout rooms and the large group, witnessing the variety of creative expressions to carry forward into our lives and the world! It was truly a heartwarming and hope-filled time together!

Below, we've shared some of the Kindness Cards and Coins that were created, as a way to keep watering the seeds of kindness into the world! Thank you again for opening the new year together for such an wonderful experience

Here are the coins I made. I would give them to myself as a reminder not to be too hard on myself and doubt my capacity.

Let’s dance with the butterflies, laugh freely and love more deeply this 2026! Kindness and light to all

Making Kindness cards felt like a kindness to myself.

The joy it brings to think about someone receiving the message

The joy it brings to create a message of kindness from simple materials that might have otherwise been wasted.

That is a kindness to myself.

I found the whole process to be extremely centering and grounding, using the felt sense as I chose all the pieces, moving them around, discarding some till they all felt “just right” before gluing . The cutting and gluing was an extremely meditative practice and I really lost track of time as I was in a calm reverie. I was aware that I might not even finish one side of my postcard but was reassured by Viviane’s words earlier when she had said: “Even if you don’t make any cards today and just use the time to gather materials.”  I didn’t really look around at the screen as I worked but felt the community connection which was also powerful as was Viviane’s presence throughout. I plan to continue making cards as it was truly therapeutic.
